What is Sport-Specific Training?

Sport-Specific Training is adhering to a training program that is geared towards stimulating movements or exercises with the intention of those movements transferring to the playing field (or to the individual's sport they want to excel in). In general terms, Sport-Specific Training will help set you up for the most success by utilizing the specific skills you need in order to take precedence in your individual sport.

As an athlete, how can I benefit from Sport-Specific Training?

Each sport will have specific movements unique to that activity; thus, you cannot have one training program for all sports, as the needs for each sport are vastly different. Training specifically to increase potential in your sport, you may see:

  • Increased speed
  • Increased agility and conditioning
  • Injury prevention
  • Increased flexibility 
  • Increased body awareness and balance
  • Improved endurance and ability to quickly recover from training and competition

What does Sport-Specific Training entail?

  • Ability to work one-on-one with the trainer or in a group setting (discounted rate for groups)
  • Learn how to implement a safe, efficient, and effective training program that will help you excel in your individual sport
  • Duplicate exact movements in certain actions of your sport outside of competition to utilize effectiveness
  • Involve the same type of muscular contraction used in skill execution
  • Develop characteristics in the same range of motion as the actual skill needed for your sport
  • Huge gym with free weights, machines, cables, cardio equipment, and turf floor
  • 60 minute and 90 minute sessions available
  • Price per session varies
  • Assessments made every 4-6 weeks
